"EVERY DAY ALICE"

Auditions for Every Day Alice will be held on December 2nd, 2018 from 11am-4pm. Interested actors may send a head shot and résumé to the attention of anne.yumi.kobori@gmail.com. Sides will be provided in advance. Audition location: 1560 Davidson Ave, SF.

Every Day Alice explores familiar characters from Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan, in a modern setting. Alice, a brilliant young writer, has been placed in a mental hospital due to nervous breakdowns from her overactive imagination. Her boyfriend Peter longs for adventure and a release from the responsibilities of adulthood. Their publisher/pianist friend James struggles to connect with his wife, Isabel, a mute professional dancer. The epic foursome is joined by Freudian doctor Avshalom, mad retired-actress Hattie, drunk window-cleaner Smythe, and card-sharp judge Queenie. Together they navigate the blurred lines between mental health and artistic expression, as they discover what it truly means to grow up.
Casting the following roles:
PETER: an architect, male 20's -30's, any ethnicity. Inspired by J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan
JAMES: a book editor and pianist, male 20's-30's, any ethnicity. Inspired by J.M. Barrie's Captain Hook.
ISABEL: a mute dancer, female 20's-30's, any ethnicity. Inspired by J.M. Barrie's Tinkerbell.
HATTIE: a mad retired actress, female 40+, any ethnicity. Inspired by Lewis Carroll's Mad Hatter. Will also play QUEENIE, a card-sharp judge, and CHESHIRE CAT.
